Izikowitz's dictionary data was presumably collected during an eight months long fieldtrip to northern Laos starting in January 1937. The data was collected on filing cards which were later scanned.
The Izikowitz Rmeet dictionary dataset consists of a PDF with scans of handwritten dictionary entries using a script known as Landsmålsalfabetet for pre-IPA transcriptions and a PDF file converting the handwritten notes into the digital Landsmålsalfabetet font, translations, and an approximation of the IPA equivalent characters. Page reference in the transcribed PDF links to scan pages rather than individual entries.
For handwritten data which was illegible, the IPA in the transcribed PDF substitutes the character with a capital C in it is believed to be a consonant and capital V for believed vowels. Capital V followed by subscript 1, 2, and 3 represent specific unknown vowels rather than illegible vowels and captial R represents a specific consonant linked to /r/ and its IPA variants. When the collector used c with an acute accent in the handwritten data the transcribed PDF landsmålsalfabetet column is empty as this character does not exist in the font. In the IPA section the acute accent c is represented as a voiceless palatal stop.
