Kasim (Tawai): cənal jaleed (Sm) 108-200 (pp.101-108) (22/1/79) 4. 202-237 Jamuʔ & friend converse in Thai (Tawai 26/1/79) (not transcribed) Several of the recordings on this cassette tape are transcribed from p.3 in Notebook 11 (from Jan-Feb 1979), and there is some metadata on p.50 of Notebook 11. The place of recording, Tawai, is a village off the main road leading to Grik, just outside of Grik. This is where the black and white Semnam photos were taken. This recording was made during Benjamin's first deliberate trip to work with Lanoh and Semnam speakers in Lanoh and Semnam country. Some years earlier Benjamin had collected names of Lanoh/Semnam varieties and the purpose of this field trip was to try to sort out the names of the varieties. The varieties looked at are: LY = Lanoh Yir, LJ = Lanoh Jɛŋjɛŋ, SA = Sabʉm; Semnam is separate from these 3 Lanoh varieties (info from p.5 of LNHGBIA790106_001).
