H.D. Noone's Reconnaissance map

Geoffrey Benjamin's scan of H.D. Noone's Reconnaissance map of 'Parts of Upper Perak and Ulu Kelantan' from 1936. The map marks the Orang Asli settlements of which Noone became aware in his exploration of the area, including Lanoh, Jahai, Ple-Temiar, 'Menri' and Semai regions. The map was published as part of the publication Noone, H.D. (1936). Report on the Settlements and Welfare of the Ple-Temiar Senoi of the Perak-Kelantan Watershed. A documentary film from 1956 made by the Malayan Film Unit about Temiar culture. It was filmed in the area around Grik in Perak. The actors who play the main characters originate from Geoffrey Benjamin's field site area. The film was received from Geoffrey Benjamin in digital format.

Wong, and narrated by Anthony Schooling. 50 minutes, Eastmancolor; released commercially in Malaya July 1957 by the Shaw Group – publicized as "filmed on the spot in Perak's Darkest Jungles".
